Friday Fiver | August 2018 Bookish Favorites

Happy almost September, blogger friends. I can’t believe tomorrow’s already the first of September. What are you all looking forward to the most (or dreading the most) for the next month? Anyone else also starting up classes again?

I’m here today to share with you my top 5 book-related favorites from the month of August.

Tough Luck Cowboy (Crossroads Ranch #2) by A.J. Pine

If you follow me on my blog or via bookstagram, you are most likely aware of how trash I am for cowboy romances. This book is the second in a series by A.J. Pine which revolves around a set of brothers whose abusive father passed away at the beginning of the first novel. This installment follows the second oldest brother, Luke Everett, a bull rider who has been harboring feelings for his best friend’s now ex-wife, Lily Green, a gifted chef. This was an excellent enemies-to-lovers romance that just swept me off my feet. Thank you to Forever Romance Books for sending me this complementary copy!

Disney Princess bookmark from Otter Nonsense Designs

I am currently a July-August-September rep for Otter Nonsense Designs and it is such a joy! Jamie-Leigh is a talented artist and she definitely has a little something for lovers of various fandoms including Disney,  Harry Potter, Star Wars and more. I loved everything included in my rep package, but this Disney Princess bookmark definitely caught my eye as soon I as went perusing through her shop. Use my rep code “SINGPRETTYREADBOOKS” to get 15% OFF your next order!

Cuyana Classic Leather Tote in Caramel

This may not seem totally book-related, but for someone who works in a library it totally is! I need to have sturdy work tote to carry not only my daily essentials, but multiple books. I wanted a large, simple leather tote in a nice brown color which is an excellent neutral for all year round (I generally prefer wearing black during the colder months). This leather tote is gorgeous–the pebbled leather is smooth and durable and I can stuff it with everything I need and more. I also got mine monogrammed with my initials for a personal touch. It is unstructured and floppy, but I did add a base shaper from an old tote to help it sit up straight. Overall, it’s one of my favorite bags I own.

Princess Jasmine candle by Witchy Wicks Candle Co

I am so honored to say that Witchy Wicks Candle Co, another amazing bookish business I rep for, created a candle inspired by me! They surprised me with this amazing Princess Jasmine candle in my last rep package and it not only looks gorgeous but smells amazing. Here is their scent description: “With complimenting notes of green apple & pineapple swirled with notes of jasmine and lily finishing off with rich notes of ambergris, musk, and amber you will want to marry this candle…for love.

I am a collector of Princess Jasmine inspired pieces and refuse to burn this one because I just adore it. So, I’ll sometimes just let it sit without the lid on LOL. But they currently have a sale going on–everything is 15% off! But after the sale is over, you can continue to use my rep code “SINGPRETTY15” to get 15% off your orders.

The Crossover and Booked by Kwame Alexander

These books by Kwame Alexander fall under categories I rarely read: verse (poetry), sports and middle grade. Yet somehow, he has stolen my heart with these exceptionally moving, rhythmic and compassionate stories which explore themes related to growing up, family, divorce, self-confidence and more.
