Happy Tuesday, bloggers.
I’ve returned with Day 2 of the 3 Days, 3 Quotes tag which I was originally tagged to do by Rendz (Reading with Rendz)–thanks, by the way 🙂.
• Thank the person who nominated you
• Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
• Nominate three new bloggers each day
Assuming that quotes we share do not only have to come from books, here is my next one…
“You may shoot me with your words.
You my cut me with your eyes.
You may kill me with your hatefulness.
But just like life, I’ll rise.”
— Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
Maya Angelou’s entire poem, Still I Rise, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful, powerful, and inspiring pieces I’ve ever read and digested.
It touches not only on empowerment of the individual, but black and womanly empowerment too.
Have you ever heard her recite her own poems? She is a phenomenal performer and speaker.
