3 Days, 3 Quotes | Day 1

Happy Monday, my friends. I hope your week is off to a great start.

I was tagged by Rendz (Reading with Rendz) to partake in the lovely 3 days, 3 quotes tag which I have definitely seen floating around quite a lot in the blogosphere lately.

• Thank the person who nominated you

• Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)

• Nominate three new bloggers each day

And so here is my first quote which I’d like to share…

“It was books that made me feel perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me and I with them.” — Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

These are the kind of words that make me cry just by reading them. Will says these words to Tessa in the second Infernal Devices book and they resonate with not only the love they clearly share for one another, but with their love for literature and therefore, with all readers.

Many mistake my friendliness and general positivism for extroversion. But I am a true introvert in every sense of the word. My idea of solace and relaxation is being at home, in my bed, reading a book. If invited out, whether it be to go see a film or hang out at a friend’s house, I’m likely to decline so that I can stay home. I’m quite boring, honestly!

There are times I get a disconcerting sense that being alone with my books speaks of me in a sort of sad and negative light. But as Will reminds me with his beautiful words, a book serves a multitude of purposes–an escape, a friend, a home.

I’m tagging…

Kaila | The Traveling Inkwell

Tiffany | Beyond the Stars

Whether you’ve done this tag already or you’re about to, please share links to your posts so I can read them.

  1. I LOVE this quote! it’s a totally bias opinion cause Tessa is one of my fave characters in the Shadowhunter world & Clockwork princess is still my fave book in said world but still! lol. This def resonates with me as well, a fellow introvert 🙂
